Small vertical errors continued ...

Avoiding or minimising errors in surveys is related to the selection of; survey methodology, type of survey equipment and systems used in combination with the professionalism, skill and experience of the surveyors involved. The cost of "avoiding" the error varies from project to project and is a matter of using the right people and equipment for the area being surveyed. On average you could allow between 6-10% of the unnecessary disposal costs associated with the1cm dredging error.

Vertical depth errors can be either system or operator generated or a combination of the two. It is impossible to remove all errors within a survey – as surveyors we do our best to minimise all sources of error.
