Challenging river survey helps reveal best bakery. What’s your pick?
River Cross Sections surveys can be extremely challenging. During winter the rivers are in floods so profiling by vessel is the norm while in summer dried out river beds brings topographic survey techniques to the fore, along with a large variety of insects, including wasps.
These types of surveys are essential for monitoring sediment transport, erosion and flood inundation modelling. This winter has seen extraordinary amounts of rain over a sustained period causing havoc throughout a number of areas. Several of these more recent surveys have involved several hundreds of cross sections over extended periods of time for our survey teams.
