Australasian Hydrographic Society Award to Bruce Wallen
Bruce Wallen, DML's Survey Manager, has received an Award of Merit for Career Achievement in Hydrography. Bruce has been active within the Australasian hydrographic survey community for over 35 years with roles in defence, government and private industry. His wealth of knowledge has enabled him to act as a mentor to others within the industry including survey students where he regularly undertakes guest lecturing at the University of Otago's School of Surveying. He currently holds the position of Chair of the Hydrographic Stream for the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors. In this role Bruce has been instrumental in building a business plan for the Hydrographic stream as well as helping to adopt policy and standards for professional development (CPD) programs to improve best hydrographic practice.
